A sweet, compost-like smell of fresh grass clippings in the sun leads the nose, with peat and cassis meeting resin and tobacco. The palate is silky and supple with black forest berries and dried herbs carrying through a splay of very fine, powdery tannins. Long and promising on the finish. A rare, exceptional-vintage-only Gimblett Gravels Cabernet, reserved for a landmark celebration.
