Six expressions of Chardonnay poured within the private dining room of a Georgian townhouse named after Mayfair's most notorious 18th-century courtesan. Part of our Unlocked by Encountr series, for those in search of hidden-gems where wine can be enjoyed among friends, old and new.

Kitty Fisher was a courtesan so scandalous, so talked-about in 18th-century Mayfair, that a restaurant now carries her name a few doors from where she lived.

On 11 June 2026, Encountr filled her dining room for with six remarkable expressions of Chardonnay.

This was the same generous, unhurried format Encountr designs every tasting around full pours in proper glassware, a Champagne welcome and small plates threaded through the evening rather than rushed between pours.

The wines ranged from the Burgundian precision of Maison Champagne Poirot and Louis Jadot to the bolder, warmer-climate expressions of Errazuriz, Zuccardi, Villa Maria and Résonance — the same six-country journey that sold out at Vinoly in May, this time inside a room with three centuries of stories in its walls.

Kitty Fisher's dining room sits inside a genuine Georgian townhouse in Shepherd Market, renowned for its award-winning modern British cooking — a setting that feels less like a restaurant and more like being let into somebody's best-kept secret. Chardonnay Unlocked returns to Kitty Fisher's later this summer.
